Adapt, overcome…survive!

The saying goes, “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” I also don’t believe in posting for the sake of posting. If there’s nothing newsworthy to share, then I can’t justify clogging up your newsfeeds. What can I say? I’m not that interesting. I hope this sums up my lack of communications throughout 2020!

Looking back on my last post in December 2019 is a little eerie today. I was hopeful yet uncertain how the dawn of a new decade would unfold. Coincidentally, I wrote about adaptability and patience – qualities I know we’ve all had to find the strength to muster. Nonetheless, I hope you’re all adapting and overcoming the challenges 2020 bestowed and I envisage we’ll need to maintain our fortitude in the face of adversity throughout 2021.

Just like everyone else my plans for 2020 were disrupted significantly (and I have lockdown hair) but I did release a new music video for the single Kamikaze. You can check it out here! Warning! This video will conjure live music nostalgia…remember when we used to go to dingy little rock holes to watch live bands…those were the days!

Huge thank you to my partner in crime Christian Stirling (Director/Editor), venue Whisky a Go Go and backing band Amito Hoshino (Bass), Edi Roque (Guitar), Jody Stark (Cello) and Victor Singer (Drums).

Unfortunately, most live music venues are still closed in Los Angeles, but I do have plans to perform some intimate, stripped back acoustic shows once it’s safe for venues to open. Right now, I’m on the hunt for a replacement acoustic guitar and working on lyrics for new material which I will test out at the acoustic shows later in 2021.

I think it will just be me with a guitar and a cellist which will be super fun! In the meantime, you can always watch my full concert at the Whisky a Go Go here! I know it’s not the same as going to a live show but it’s better than nothing.
